LAVF
144/150
This compact VHF
linear amplifier has a gain of 12dB, and an output power of 150W
pep. It has excellent linearity giving low levels of
intermodulation products. The amplifier has been designed to work
with the TVVF 144a ( Mk I or II ) but can be driven from any
transceiver with an output of up to 10W. The unit has been styles
to match the transverters, but is 2.75" high. The amplifier
is fan cooled, with a reduced fan speed whilst the amplifier is
cool to reduce noise. The amplifier is internally sequenced and
has an output to drive the muTek range of masthead amplifiers. A
pair of these amplifiers have been in use at the Lerwick beacon
(GB3 LER) since October 1991, providing 2 X 100W for meteor
scatter, auroral and sporadic E propagation indication.
